Right now, it's a piece of casting that appears to be asking as many questions as it's answering. Yet, Sony has nonetheless confirmed that Rhys Ifans has signed on the dotted line to play the villain in the upcoming reboot of the Spider-Man franchise.
He joins a cast that includes Andrew Garfield as the webslinger, and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. Marc Webb, the helmer of (500) Days Of Summer, is calling the shots.
However, what's unclear thus far is just who Ifans will be playing. The actor, perhaps still best known for his scene-stealing work in Notting Hill, is known only to be playing a villain, but Sony is trying to keep exactly who he'll be under wraps.
