Is Sin City 2 finally going to happen?

Bruce Willis : Sin City

Robert Rodriguez plans to make Sin City 2 his next movie after Spy Kids 4. But will that really happen? And where would that leave the proposed Deadpool film?

It's been promised pretty much since the first movie rolled into cinemas, and yet, over half a decade later, we're still waiting for Robert Rodriguez to return to Sin City for the long-promised sequel. Rodriguez, in his defence, has been busy, and just this year he's shepherded Predators and Machete to the big screen, while calling the shots on next year's Spy Kids 4.

But not for the first time, there's a hint now that Sin City 2 is back on his radar. This all came about from a live Facebook chat, where the director declared that once work he's done on Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World, he would be turning his attention to Sin City 2. "Frank Miller and I are working on it," he revealed, noting that "it's slated to be the next one [movie], but if the script is not ready, then we'll have to move on to the next one."

Where that leaves the plan to direct Deadpool, incidentally, is unclear, but it does add a little fuel to the idea that we're never going to see a Ryan Reynolds-headlined X-Men spin-off at this rate.

Anyway, Rodriguez teased a little more on Sin City 2, stating of Bruce Willis, "I wanna bring him back for Sin City because he's so bad-ass."

We're long past trying to second-guess when Sin City 2 will finally arrive on our screens, however, so for now, we'll just make sure we bring you further news as we get it. Even though Rodriguez is a fast filmmaker (and it does sound if everything falls into place that cameras might just roll next year), we still reckon it's some way off...
