Assassin’s Creed III is undoubtedly one of the year’s most anticipated releases, and to further stoke the fires, Ubisoft has produced a four part mini documentary series that looks deeper into the game’s development.
In part one, which you’ll find nestled below, the team looks at the game’s new protagonist, Connor, the half British, half Mohawk Assassin. The video looks at his heritage, motives and his importance in historical events, and also looks at the new AnvilNext game engine.
This engine promises a much bigger and more realistic world than the ones seen previously in the Assassins’ series, including a larger game world, new animation system, totally revamped combat system and impressive effects, such as natural trees and water. The engine can also handle up to 2,500 characters onscreen at any one time, which should certainly come in handy for those large scale battles Connor will have to negotiate in order to reach his various VIP targets.
Assassin’s Creed III is due out on October 30 in North America on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and in Europe on October 31, and will be followed by the PC version in the US on November 20 and on November 23 in Europe. The Wii U version will also be released, but the date is yet to be announced.
