Despite the disappointment of Mads Mikkelson dropping out the cast for Thor: The Dark World, the film looks to be shaping up nicely as Christopher Eccleston was quickly cast as his replacement in the role of Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves and the film's primary antagonist, Also, earlier this week we had the announcement that Kat Dennings would be returning in her role of Darcy, which will reportedly be more substantial this time around.
The latest piece of casting will see Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje play not one but two roles. He's set to play Algrim the Strong first of all, part of a race of Dark Elves. Then he's also playing Kurse, a much strong iterant of the character. The kind who'd give Thor a run for his money, certainly.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje sounds a good choice then, as in terms of physical stature he's more than a match for Chris Hemsworth. Best known for his role in Lost as Mr Eko, he has also appeared in G.I. Joe, The Bourne Identity and Oz, and is also set to feature in the upcoming Bullet To The Head, directed by the great Walter Hill and starring Sylvester Stallone.
