The new story set to drop in Halo 4, from 343 Industries, is placed at centre stage in this E3 trailer for the latest adventure of Master chief. A predominantly live-action affair, it’s nonetheless impressive and shows the launch of the repurposed Human warship, the UNSC Infinity.
As a vessel of peace, its man’s hope to discover a new future, after the war with the Covenant and the Halo incidents, but, in a very Event Horizon-style manner, the mission doesn’t exactly go according to plan.
The live-action teaser is then followed by a bit of actual gameplay, which showcases a lush, jungle environment, some Covenant attack troops, and further confirms Cortana’s dire predicament.
Halo 4 may be the sequel that a lot of critics said shouldn’t happen, as there’s a growing movement of people who think Halo should be put out to pasture, but after watching this trailer, even the most cynical may well get at least a little excited by Master Chief’s return.
