Despite the world and its dog already knowing, Activision has unveiled Call of Duty Black Ops II…
Yes, don't fall off your chair or anything, but guess what? The next Call of Duty game is... Black Ops II! Yep, that's right, you know, that game we've all been talking about for ages? Well, it's 100% and undisputed fact now, but, it may not be the CoD you were expecting.
As also rumoured, it does indeed appear as though the next Call of Duty is going to change tack a little, as Black Ops II looks to be set in a near future setting, rather than the series' more traditional historic or modern day themes.
"Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare", says the official website.
At the time of writing, not a great deal of additional info was available, apart from a couple of screenshots, which you can find here.
As we found out earlier in the week Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 13 in North America, and Europe.
