They promised us an R-rated Dredd movie, and that’s exactly what we’re getting…
Just yesterday, we were asked on our Twitter feed what was happening with the Dredd movie. It was shot last year, and there had been rumblings that all was not well in the edit room. Yet such rumblings were denied, and there’s been a lot of post production effects work that had to be done. It’s hardly surprising that things went a bit quiet.
But expect that to change soon. Box Office Mojo has revealed that Dredd has just been rated by the MPAA, which suggests that the final cut is all but done. And, as promised, Dredd’s new big screen adventure is rated R.
It’s picked up its rating for “strong bloody violence, language, drug use and some sexual content”. Sounds promising.
Karl Urban is playing the title role in the film, which turns up first in the UK on 7th September. We suspect that the first trailer for the movie might be not too far off now…
