It seems as those Tom Hardy’s Bane will be perfectly audible, as new material from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is screened…

Ever since the opening sequence for Christopher Nolan’s final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, was screened last year, questions have been raised as to how audible the character of Bane – played by Tom Hardy – would be in the film.

Whilst the filmmakers have advised staying patient, and waiting until we see the character in more context, there’s been no shortage of people who couldn’t seem to hear a word that Bane is muttering.

In the US these past few days, though, Cinemacon has been taking place in Las Vegas. It’s a big show for cinema owners, basically, where studios come along and showcase their wares. And one of the films that’s been showcased, with new footage screened, is The Dark Knight Rises. The feedback from the screening? Bane’s audibility problem is a thing of the past.

According to IGN, “Bane was not muffled at all now. Indeed, I feel confident saying he was crystal clear now”.

That, then, is a very big step in the right direction.

Footage screened on the new Batman film at the convention, meanwhile, included Batman in his new Batcave, material that shows just how the ante has been upped for Gotham City this time around, and one or two slight reveals about Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman. We expect to see a bit more of her in next week’s trailer.

IGN has a nice write-up, here, and thanks to our chums at Bleeding Cool, too.
