Producer Avi Arad releases a few more details as to what we can expect from this summer's The Amazing Spider-Man. A new trailer is due next month, too...
With a new trailer promised in the next month, Sony is gradually ramping things up where The Amazing Spider-Man is concerned.
Its stars, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, joined the film’s producers, Avi Arad and Matthew Tolmach, at a special press conference in Tokyo, too, to reveal that Japan would be getting the film a few days before its US release. The movie is set to be unleashed in America on July 3rd, but in Japan, you’ll be able to see it from June 30th.
More interestingly, though, at the press conference, a few more details about the film were revealed.
For starters, Avi Arad revealed that “In our movie, [Peter Parker] finds his true love. Gwen Stacy was always the true love of Peter Parker”, adding, “we found a very, very good story about what makes a human being. About what sets their destiny.”
With regards the film’s antagonist, The Lizard (aka Dr Curt Connors), Arad said that “We introduce our villain, Dr Connors, and in the great tradition of Marvel, Dr Connors is going to be connected to Peter Parker and, in our case even more interesting, to Gwen Stacy."
"Right there, the challenge of having to deal with a villain who is a mentor and the only one who you can look at and say, ‘So what really happened to my dad?’ That’s a very hard person to fight.”
When that new trailer lands, we will, of course, bring it to you here.
