Could Bill and Ted be about to head off through time once more? Keanu Reeves seems to be indicating that there’s a solid chance that might happen…
One of the articles that's long been on the to-do list here has been an appreciation, in particular, of the quite brilliant Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, the second of the two movies to date featuring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter's time-travelling duo.
Earlier in the year, Keanu Reeves had hinted at the possibility of a new sequel, and the folks at MTV caught up with him at the Toronto Film Festival to try and pin him down a little more. Turns out, there could be more to this than just the odd rumour from time to time.
Reeves told MTV, "We're trying. Alex and I are still friends and we're talking, and we're talking to Chris and Ed". Chris and Ed, incidentally, are Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the writers of the movies.
Reeves continued: "They're going to try and see if they can write something. To me, I'd love to play the role. I'd love to work with Alex and Chris and Ed again."
Despite Reeves' apparent enthusiasm for a third movie, it's still going to be quite a tough one to put together, we'd wager. The two leads, after all, are no longer anywhere close to high school age, but for the film to work, they have to remain front and centre of it.
It could work, of course, and going back to seemingly dormant franchises nearly two decades later isn't unheard of. But, we'll keep an eye on the story more out of hope than expectation...
