Warning: contains major season five spoilers.
Our Stateside True Blood-following chums will know that season six (the first without showrunner Alan Ball at the helm) is due to fill in a crucial part of the Sookie Stackhouse puzzle with the long-awaited appearance of vampire Warlow.
So far only seen with his face obscured in flashback, Warlow is the vamp Sookie discovers is responsible for the deaths of Mr and Mrs Stackhouse (previously thought to have drowned) and his reappearance in Bon Temps is set to become a season-long arc.
The news then, that geek film and TV veteran Rutger Hauer will be joining the show as “Macklyn” (Warlow is listed as “M. Warlow” in the True Blood wiki) has had many theorising that the Blade Runner star will be playing the parent-killing vamp in question. That seems like a sensible conclusion to draw, we'd have said.
