Inevitably, given the veil of secrecy over the film, there's only so much that Benedict Cumberbatch was going to say about the upcoming JJ Abrams-helmed Star Trek Into Darkness. But, chatting to The Huffington Post, he did natter briefly about the film and director.
Cumberbatch, who tabloid rumour yesterday linked with the next James Bond film (we'd take that with a pinch of salt), admitted that "it was an amazing experience". And while conceding that he was "bound to say that", he added that "It was just extraordinary. [JJ Abrams]' a wonderful human being to be around". Furthermore, "he has time for everyone and it's all done with a really genuine interest in the story. So for all the bangs for your buck that you're going to get with the film - which there are going to be aplenty - you have an investment, you care about what's happening to these characters, so it was really exciting".
Cumberbatch resumes Sherlock duties in January, as series three of the show starts filming. Star Trek Into Darkness is released in May 2013.
