It's been a month since rumours started swirling that Super and Slither director James Gunn had got the nod to direct the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians Of The Galaxy. Now, the man himself has confirmed it's true.
Gunn is rewriting the script for the movie, and will be directing, and he confirmed the news in a statement on his Facebook page.
"As a lifelong lover of Marvel comics, space epics, AND raccoons, this is the movie I’ve been waiting to make since I was nine years old", he wrote. "Kevin [Feige], Joss [like you don't know which Joss he's talking about], and all the folks at Marvel have been amazing collaborators so far, and we’re committed to bringing you something majestic, beautiful, and unique."
It's going to be a test and a half bringing Guardians Of The Galaxy to the big screen, but Gunn just might be the man to do it. His Facebook page is here.
Guardians Of The Galaxy is due for release in August 2014.
