We’ve heard when Japan will get the Wii U, but now we also know when the West is going to get in on the action…

Nintendo’s latest platform, and the successor to the hugely successful Wii, the Wii U, will arrive in the not too distant future for American and European players, as early as November, in fact, earlier than the Japanese release on December 8.

North America is set to get its grubby mitts on the Wii U when it launches there on November 18, and European players will follow suit on November 30. The console will launch in two different flavours, with the standard, white version coming with 8GB of memory, a Wii U gamepad and HDMI cable. Pricing is to be set by retailers, but it’s already been seen that this model may cost around £200-210.

The premium, black version will come with 32GB of memory, black Wii U pad, HDMI cable, Wii U sensor bar and a charging cradle for the gamepad, along with a stand for the Wii U unit itself. It’ll also include Nintendo Land, one of the launch games. As an added bonus, the pack will include access to Nintendo Network Premium, which will give discounts (about 10% off) for online content via Nintendo’s eShop. This package will set punters back around £250.

That’s some fairly reasonable pricing, and with such a gamut of extras bundled with the premium version for only an additional £40-50, I suspect the black model will become hard to come by, so pre-ordering may be a good tactic.
