Die hard Resident Evil fans with plenty of cash rejoice! The ‘Leather Jacket’ edition of Resident Evil 6, previously only confirmed for Japan, is now coming to European players.
The special edition of Capcom’s highly anticipated sixth instalment of the survival horror series comes with three DLC maps for the game’s Mercenaries mode, four character-themed tablet covers (Leon, Chris, Ada and Wesker’s Son, Jake Muller), and, the pièce de résistance, a replica Leon Kennedy leather jacket, as worn by the fan-favourite protagonist in the game.
The jacket comes in small, medium, large and extra large, and if you want to be one of the few who own one, you’d better be prepared to part with some serious dough, as this edition of the game will set you back a whopping £899. Yep, for one penny less than £900 you could get what, hopefully, will be a great Resident Evil title, and a flashy new leather jacket. Is it worth the monumental price tag? Well, quality leather jackets don’t come cheap, but those looking for highest quality clothing don’t usually wait for special edition video games, so we’ll have to see just how nifty the jacket is.
The jacket edition will be available exclusively through Capcom’s European online store, but it’s not the only special version of the game.
For fans with a more modest budget, there’s the DSO T-shirt Edition, and this includes the three DLC maps, Leon’s tablet case and a DSO T-shirt. This will cost £79.99. There’s also the Tablet Case Edition which features the DLC maps and all tablet covers for £54.99.
October 2 sees the game arrive for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and the PC release will be announced in due course.
