The next adventure of Kratos, a prequel to the existing God of War instalments, now has a release date, and it’s coming exclusively to the PS3 early next year.
The release date has been marked down for March 13 in Europe, and March 15 in the UK, whilst North America will get the game a little earlier in March 12. It’s also been confirmed that the Collector’s Edition, previously outed by Amazon, will also be available at the same time.
This Collector’s Edition will include the game in a steelbook case, soundtrack CD, online pass, a code for double multiplayer XP, a dynamic XMB theme and avatar pack, and a statue of the game’s irritable protagonist, Kratos.
For a little less, there’s also going to be a Special Edition, which includes all of the above, sans the Kratos statue.
The first God of War title to feature a full, and actually impressive looking, multiplayer, Ascension is going to tell the tale of Kratos’ origins, and will detail his journey to becoming the Ghost of Sparta, and tells the story of his attempt to break the pact with the original God of War, Ares.
