If we're talking about blockbuster movies that never got the commercial success they plainly deserved, then we have to leave room in the conversation for Joe Johnston's 1991 movie, The Rocketeer.
Starring Bill(y) Campbell, Jennifer Connelly and Timothy Dalton, The Rocketeer has won a fair number of fans since, and was treated for a Blu-ray release for its 20th birthday last year. But still, it's a cult hit, when it deserved a lot more. We looked back at the film in a lot more detail, here.
But might The Rocketeer be getting a second stab at the big screen? Vulture is reporting that Disney is looking at a potential reboot, although it's not very far along in the process. The report suggests that Disney "will soon be meeting with various writers to come up with a take".
Disney isn't saying anything about the project at the moment, as you'd expect, so it's still very much a rumour at this stage. When we hear anything more substantive, we'll bring you up to date. For now, if you've never had the pleasure of the original movie, might we suggest you track down a copy? It's worth it...
