There are several reasons to look forward to Cockneys Vs Zombies. The promise of Brick Top out of Snatch (Alan Ford) swearing at the undead. Richard Briers fending off shuffling ghouls with first a zimmer frame, then an uzi. The zombie comedy has become its own subgenre over the last decade, with even Cuba getting in on the act with Juan Of The Dead.
Director Matthias Hoene's Cockneys, meanwhile, looks like a genuinely fun film, thanks to its eclectic cast, which includes Michelle Ryan and Honor Blackman as well as the aforementioned Ford and Briers, and its cheerful use of anarchic violence and gleeful obscenity - if you don't believe us, take a look at its trailer, if you haven't already done so.

Cockneys Vs Zombies has its premiere at FrightFest on the 23rd August, and goes on general release on the 31st.
