If you’ve been looking forward to the upcoming Medal of Honor: Warfigher, the odds are you’ve jumped online to pledge your cash to the game via a pre-order. Well, if you did this by wandering over to the Origin store, then not only will you have been able to pre-order the game, but you may have also noticed that Battlefield 4 is on its way.
Yep, right there, in black and white below the Medal of Honor: Warfighter pre-order is an offer to exclusively get in on the Battlefield 4 Beta when it arrives. This isn’t odd in itself, as there’s no real surprise that Battlefield 4 is on the cards. What is odd, however, is that EA and DICE has yet to even broach the subject, let alone reveal any betas. And, as the ad has now been removed from Origin, it's all the more apparent that this was a bit of information that wasn’t supposed to see the light of day just yet. There’s also still plenty of new Battlefield 3 content planned, and on the way, so a fourth title announcement this early is certainly strange.
There are no extra details anywhere on the offer, save the initial mention, but this is an interesting, if seemingly unplanned announcement, and one that will no doubt please Battlefield fans. And, with the next generation of consoles on the horizon, will Battlefield’s fourth outing be the first on the new platforms? We’ll find out when the inevitable official announcement from EA arrives.
