According to G4TV, the upcoming Gears of War prequel now has a release month. The new game, which will tell the story of GoW veteran, Baird, as he and his squad are on trial for treason and desertion, amongst other things, will apparently be released in March 2013.
As a prequel to the existing trilogy, Judgement will allow fans to delve further into the Gears of War universe, and the game itself will offer some changes that will be new to the series, including a dynamic spawn system that will change things up each time you play, meaning that memorising Locust attack patterns and encounter may not really help all that much. It should also make the game less predictable, which was always an issue, as it was clear when large scale fights would happen, even on your first play through, “Hmmm, a room, with conveniently-laced fallen debris and spare ammo? Yep, there’s gonna be a fight.”
The multiplayer modes will also receive a shot in the arm, with team-based modes similar to other class-based titles, including the new Overrun mode that sees Cogs defend objectives against Locust aggressors in a defend and attack, round-based affair. Well, it’s only fair, everyone else and their goldfish has cloned Gears’ Horde mode, after all.
