It's been nearly a year now since The Inbetweeners Movie dominated the UK box office, outperforming several big blockbusters in the process. Since then, a US remake of the television show has progressed, and it's also been revealed that the film is finally getting a US release, which has been earmarked for 7th September.
However, for the creators of the television show and film, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, the big news keeps on coming. It's been reported that the pair have been signed up by Paramount Pictures to put together what's being described as "a coming-of-age teen movie", which will be budgeted around the $15m mark. The film will follow four recent high school leavers, who head off on a road trip.
Beesley and Morris will be penning the script, with Morris himself making his directorial debut on the project. It's not entirely clear as of yet whether it's going to be based on The Inbetweeners Movie script in any way, or if it's an entirely different project, just of similar vein. What is clear, though, is that this is a major, deserved piece of news for Beesley and Morris themselves. And we look forward to seeing what they come up with next.
