His work is all but done on the production of the upcoming Star Trek reboot sequel, which means Benedict Cumberbatch has returned to the UK. And in a chat with the BBC, he’s been talking just a little about the project.
“Star Trek was amazing”, he said, adding that it was “one of the best four months of my life”. The Sherlock star went on to heap praise on his Star Trek director, too. “JJ Abrams is a god”, he said. “And the rest of the cast, and what we were asked to do in the film is just blindingly brilliant. I adore them all. It was a huge roller-coaster adventure and I can't wait for the world to see the film. I can't tell you anything about it, even what part I am playing, whatever the speculation”.
You can guess the speculation, too. Lots of people had linked Cumberbatch with the role of Khan in the film, something that Simon Pegg refuted earlier this week. Cumberbatch wouldn’t be drawn, though, on just who he would be playing. All we know with any certainty is he’s one of the film’s villains.
