The rumoured sequel to Rayman Origins has been confirmed as Rayman Legends in this leaked trailer…
With Rayman now riding high on the success of Origins, it's no surprise to see Ubisoft give the limbless wonder another shot, and as you can see from this trailer, the style of Origins returns, along with a host of new content in, Rayman Legends.
The game, which will sport new characters, new settings, an even better graphics rendering engine and social gaming aspects, will also make extensive use of the Wii U's unique abilities, such as the touch screen controller and, more interestingly, the Near Field Technology system.
As demonstrated towards the end of the trailer, it appears as though players will be able to interact with the game by simply placing objects onto the Wii U controller. It's a very interesting idea, much like the existing Spyro title, Skylanders, and, should it be anything like the system the trailer suggests, may well break new ground yet again. Oh, and nice use of the Back to the Future theme too.
Rayman Origins was seen by many as a return to form for the Ubisoft mascot, so it'll be interesting to see how he copes on the new Nintendo platform, and how he'll fare against Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
