Prometheus: new featurette

There are glimpses of new footage to be found in the new Prometheus featurette, helpfully included in this post...

By now, you’ll probably have decided whether or not you’re going to go and see Prometheus when it comes out until June - and if that’s the case, it’s possible that you’ll want to avoid any further persuasion from the movie’s marketing wizards. But if you’re still undecided, or you’re in the mood to come some more footage for clues, the latest featurette attached below should provide a minute or so’s entertainment.

Amid all the behind-the-scenes glimpses, cast and crew talking heads and atmospheric sound effects, there’s a marvellous couple of frames to look for: at around 36 seconds in, there’s a blink-and-you’ll miss it look at a decidedly Gigeresque skull, which you can see just before it’s engulfed by some sort of alien sandstorm.

Now, unless our eyes deceive us, this is exactly the design HR Giger created back in the 1970s - not for Alien, but for the version of Dune planned but never filmed by maverick director Alejandro Jodorowsky. Intriguing stuff.
