Less green screen, more real locations? That's firmly on Chris Hemsworth's wishlist for Marvel's Thor 2...
With two films to publicise at the moment, in Cabin in the Woods and The Avengers, Chris Hemsworth has been asked about the sequel to Thor and had the following to say about it:
"I haven't got a script yet for Thor 2. I do get input into the script to a degree", he told York Press.
"Alan Taylor, one of the directors and creators of Game Of Thrones, is directing it. What I love about that series is the mythical element to it, but that world that they lived in was entirely tangible and organic. It was all real locations, not green screen."
"I think Thor and Asgard could use that. That would be a huge plus, to not have worlds that are too clinical and ethereal, and have places that look like they have existed for thousands of years. I think this would be more locations and less green screen."
Seems as though Hemsworth wasn't keen on the Asgard presented in Branagh's version, then. I appreciate that this is an area of the film that many believed wasn't successful but it was bold and created a clear distinction between the two worlds. Having the sequel drastically move away from the look established in the previous film could be off-putting. We'll wait and see how it turns out...
