Lollipop Chainsaw

The latest creation from Suda 51, Lollipop Chainsaw, is a zombie game that’s doing it for itself…

It's Saturday morning, you may be hung over, so what better way to unwind that to have a look at the psychedelic gore fest, Lollipop Chainsaw?

Lollipop Chainsaw, the new game from cult hit producer, Suda 51, master of the surreal, features zombie hunter and cheerleader, Juliet Starling, and is a zombie game with a difference, a very odd difference. A stylised anime affair, the game will be packed with all sorts of oddities far above and beyond a chainsaw wielding high-school zombie hunter (well, worked well enough for Buffy I guess).

Juliet carries around the severed, but still living head of her boyfriend, Nick, on her belt, and, as demonstrated by this trailer, she'll be accompanied by her sisters, Cordelia and Rosalind, with the three clearly wearing their vaginas proudly. Erm... yeah.

The game itself clearly resembles Suda's previous No More Heroes, and is going to be a hack and slash title at heart, with all of the usual Suda accoutrements providing that off-the-wall flair he, and his Grasshopper Manufacture team, are known for.

Whether it'll be a good game is another matter. Suda's titles are always appealing, and I have to admit that I'm a sucker for is style, but it's fair to say that No More Heroes was a little mediocre, and style alone certainly doesn't make for a good game.

So, have a look at this trailer for the game, which drops on June 15 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and make your own mind up. Be aware though, it's 18 rated. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to kick some zombies in the privates.
