Kratos, the angriest man in gaming, is to return in God of War: Ascension…
Rumours centred around a big announcement from Sony have been gestating on the Internet for a few days now, with many believing that a new God of War game was on the way. Well, it seems those people were correct, as Sony has announced a new God of War, titled Ascension.
The new instalment in the hugely popular and very, very violent series will be a prequel to the existing games, and will chart god-slapping Kratos' rise to the mighty God of War, and will show the events that lead to him gaining the name Ghost of Sparta.
Information about the game was first leaked onto the Internet via Amazon, which posted a cover for the game. This was promptly pulled down, but Sony and Santa Monica Studios have since officially announced the game, and released the debut trailer, which you can see below.
Sony has stated that this instalment in the God of War series will be them most ambitious yet, which, given the sheer spectacle of the third game, bodes well for our next jaunt with the grumpy one.
Whilst there's little in the way of in depth information at this time, save the title and video, Santa Monica has promised a further update, which should come on April 30. More God of War? Bring it on!
