Dishonored debut trailer

Dishonored

It’s debut trailer time, this time for Bethesda’s new, stealthy IP, Dishonored…

I'm not sure what it is with Bethesda, but it sure does have an unhealthy obsession with throwing players into prisons to kick off its games, not to mention killing kings, emperors, empresses and the like. And, this is just the situation that sets the stage for Dishonored, Bethesda's latest title, one that looks to be a very different beast to the titles the publisher usually releases.

As the game's protagonist, who's been framed for the murder of the empress, whom you were assigned to protect, you become a masked, supernatural assassin, and have to seek revenge by killing those that did you wrong.

Set in a dark, steampunk-style world that's ruled by an oppressive totalitarian government, you'll get the chance to utilise all sorts of powers, abilities and weapons to achieve your goals. And, as the game's developed by Arkane Studios, the same guys responsible for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, you can bet there'll be more than a smidgen of in-your-face melee combat, hopefully a little more refined than in Might and Magic.

Looking as though it'll play like a cross between Thief, Assassin's Creed and BioShock, Dishonored is an intriguing title that's firmly on my watch list, and I suspect it'll also be observed by many others too. More news as we get it, so go ahead and watch the debut trailer.
