The next adventures of Master Chief will arrive this year in Halo 4…
It's been officially announced by Microsoft, and 343 Industries, the new developer behind the next wave of Halo games, that Halo 4 will arrive this year, on November 6. Not a huge surprise, as November is traditionally the launch month for some of the holiday season's biggest names, but it's still going to get Halo fans in a lather nonetheless.
The new game, which is to be set around four years after the events of Halo 3, will bring the Master Chief back to the series' frontlines, and will be the beginning of a new trilogy. Whether this is will be limited to just this new trilogy, or will also include spin offs, such as Reach and ODST isn't clear. Well, I say it's not clear, but as long as Halo keeps selling and mankind has a hole where the sun don't shine, you can be sure that the series isn't going to go away.
We've already seen quite a bit of info regarding the new directions 343 is taking with the license, especially the multiplayer, and here's hoping that single player Halo fans will finally be given a story that's both decent, and longer than 4-5 hours.
One thing's for sure, the FPS battleground is a very different beast to when Halo was last out and about in its prime, and to complete against the likes of CoD, Battlefield and even the highly anticipated BioShock Infinite, 343 is going to need to knock this one way out of the park.
