Sabrina The Teenage Witch is set to get a big screen origin story movie...
Of all the potential comic book adaptations being speculated about, Archie Comics’ Sabrina The Teenage Witch isn't one on most people's radar. However, it's now being fast tracked by Sony, wjo is hoping to angle the film with a Spider-Man style edgy origins story, focusing on Sabrina coming to terms with her new found abilities.
Don Murphy and Susan Montford, part of the production team behind Real Steel, will be overseeing the project, with Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer down to pen the screenplay. Sony hopes that Mark Waters (Mean Girls, Mr Poppers Penguins) will direct.
If done right I think this could be worth looking forward to, and I’m a big fan of another Archie comics adaptation, Josie and the Pussycats. We'll keep you posted...
