Yet more images arrive from the Prometheus marketing cauldron, and one of them contains some decidedly HR Giger-inspired activity…
If you were wondering just how much of HR Giger’s immediately recognisable art style will make it into Prometheus, one of the new images enclosed here should give you a better idea. While everyone involved has insisted that Prometheus is more of a stand-alone movie than a prequel to Alien as once billed, one of these recently released pictures makes the thin strand between the 1979 movie and the new one plain.
Depicting the same strange, moving mural we briefly saw in the first full trailer, the picture appears to show a human either fending off or melding with something decidedly unearthly and definitely worthy of the term Giger-esque – we suspect that, if the Devil himself had got involved with the design of Michelangelo’s Sistene Chapel frescoes, they would have looked something like this. What it actually means in the context of the finished film is anyone’s guess, but we’re looking forward to finding that out for ourselves.
