We recently passed on the news that Randy Couture announced that Expendables 3 was set to shoot later this year, it's something we took with a pinch of salt particularly as an interview with Dolph Lundgren rubbished such a suggestion.
However, rumours continue to persist, and a potential new cast member and action legend in his own right Steven Seagal has revealed that he has been offered a role in the film:
“He [Sylvester Stallone] plans to do another one and I have already been made an offer. We’ll see…"
Could the we'll see refer to the long running animosity between Segal and Van Damme? JCVD is of course in the upcoming Expendables 2, so we'll have to see if his character survives the film - if he doesn't, there shouldn't be a problem with Seagal appearing in the third, particularly considering it will be the biggest project he'd have been involved with for some time. Seems that if the offer is indeed made by Stallone, the only thing that will prevent Seagal appearing in the film is his ego.
Until an announcement on the project and the potential casting has been made by Stallone, we'll take any news with a pinch of salt.
