Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City gets missing content restored with the first pack of DLC…
Although it's been savaged in reviews online and off, Capcom's Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City does have some supporters out there, and the all-action excursion to Raccoon City isn't going to ignore these loyal fans.
Coming on April 10 is the first, and free, DLC. The first Spec Ops campaign will give players the chance to experience the story from the side of the good guys, and will be able to go up against Umbrella's security forces as they attempt to uncover the truth behind the Raccoon City incident. The team includes a collection of new characters, each of which is a good guy opposite to the USS team members in the original campaign.
Whilst I'm certainly no fan of the game (to put it mildly), and think this content really should have shipped with the original game, I do think it's a nice touch that Capcom is providing this content free to customers. The solo campaign in the game is woefully short-lived, and adding to that addresses some, if only a fraction, of the shortcomings of the game. Now Slant Six just needs to patch the horrendous AI and myriad of other issues, and Raccoon City may be worth a second visit.
