If, like me, you're a fan of the original Carrier Command, then you'll no doubt have been just as surprised to hear that the tactical boat ‘em up was set to return to our screens.
Coming, courtesy of Bohemia Interactive, to PC this September, this reboot of the original 1988 Rainbird and Realtime Games release features some of the same core gameplay as the original, along with, as to be expected, a whole battleship load of modern additions.
A new story, free roaming strategy and a mixture of RTS and hands-on play should make this a very interesting title. And, if you can't wait that long to get your hands on it, you can join the beta testing program and contribute to the game.
This ‘Play & Contribute' program requires payment to acquire the beta, but once the game comes out, you'll be gieven a free digital copy. There are two beta options, the normal, £16.48 route, which will grant to access to the beta and a digital copy of the game, and the premium £32.96 package, which also nets you the full game (from store.bistudio.com and Steam), along with the Gaea soundtrack.
