id Software has responded to the supposed leak of Doom 4 assets earlier this week…
The Doom 4 leak from earlier in the week understandably sparked a whole host of speculation, with the Internet quickly spreading the news of Doom 4's apparent existence, and most gaming sites reporting on the news.
Well, id has now responded, as design director, Matthew Hooper, has tweeted a response to the leak, and the relationship the images have with Doom 4. In it, Hooper states:
"Those images have nothing to do with what you're gonna see in Doom4. When we officially show things you'll see awesome."
When questioned further about an interview with Eurogamer, in which he said that Doom 4 would "make Doomfans happy" he responded, "When we officially show things, fans will be happy."
So, it's all a bit of a storm in a teacup, at least where the supposed concept art is concerned. What we do now know officially, is that Doom 4 is alive and well, and that's good enough news for us.
