Coach Eric Taylor himself has reportedly been cast in Kathryn Bigelow’s Hurt Locker follow up, Hunt For Bin Laden...
Most recently seen in last years Super 8 but best known for his portrayal as Coach Eric Taylor in the rather excellent TV series Friday Night Lights, Kyle Chandler is an actor of considerable talent. So it’s great to hear news of him being cast in another major motion picture.
The film in question is Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled film about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, which will see the actor star alongside Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Joel Edgerton, Edgar Ramirez, Chris Pratt and Mark Strong, should the rumours of their casting be true.
Chandler will reportedly play a CIA agent in a film that features both the CIA and Navy SEALs heavily, as you’d expect from the subject matter.
The film is scripted by Bigelow’s Hurt Locker collaborator Mark Boal, and has courted controversy as there are allegations that the current administration leaked information to the filmmakers. Everybody no doubt denies everything, in case their lawyers are reading.
The film is set for release in the US on December 19th.
In addition to his work here, Chandler is set to appear in Ben Affleck’s Argo, and Broken City alongside Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose indeed.
