Ryan Gosling is set to reunite with his Drive director, Nicolas Winding Refn, for Thai boxing drama, Only God Forgives. And he's been nattering about the project...
With Drive out on Blu-Ray in the UK today it’s timely that we’re provided with an update on the next collaboration between star Ryan Gosling and director Nicolas Winding Refn Only God Forgives. The film is a Bangkok-set boxing movie. and whilst attending the Hua Hin International Film festival, Gosling has been briefly chatting about the film.
After professing his wish to mak ea film in Bangkok, Gosling revealed that he's been training for two to three hours a day in Muay Thair. "It's sparring basically", he said. "They don't really use weights. Nicolas is doing it as well.”
It doesn't sound too easy, either. "It's very hard," Gosling admitted. "They have people training around me and they could all beat me up."
After Drive I’m keen to see what further collaborations between Gosling and Winding Refn will produce. Even though Gosling’s comments are far from overly insightful we can but dream that it’ll be an equal to the JCVD-starring Kickboxer.
Following this, the actor and director have Logan’s Run scheduled. And that, too, sounds an interesting prospect...
