The big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games is almost upon us, and its marketing drive clicks in with eight fabulous new images, which you can see here...
Even if you've never read the original novels by Suzanne Collins, there are plenty of reasons to be interested in the forthcoming adaptation of the first book, The Hunger Games. For one thing, it's got a great cast, with leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson ably supported by such veterans as Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland and Toby Jones.
Set in a dystopian future where youngsters clash in televised gladiatorial combat, Collins' novel contained action, dashes of romance, and more than a passing interest in clothes, dinner and the trappings of celebrity.
We'll have to wait and see how well director Gary Ross has brought all that to the screen, but the images you'll find here give a fair indication – it's a rather clean future vision, to be sure, but we're hoping the polished look will give way to a muddier, more grazed aesthetic as events take a darker turn.
