Given that the very public shoot for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises has tackled a fair amount of viral marketing already on the part of the film, Warner Bros’ marketing department hasn’t had to do too much to push the movie yet.
However, it’s now beginning to ramp up its own viral marketing efforts, with the release of two documents, over at Empire and Wired.
The first is a fake Central Intelligence Bulletin, regarding a Russian scientist by the name of Leonid Pavel. The picture in said documents is believed to be of actor Alon Aboutboul. The second document is a communication transcript, with lots of stuff blanked out.
The best guess is that these lead up to the release of the prologue to The Dark Knight Rises later this month, and we’d wager they have something to do with the genesis of Bane. Take a look and see what you think…
