The official release date for JJ Abrams Star Trek sequel has been revealed. And the film is set to be released in 3D, too…
The other week, Paramount confirmed what had been expected for some time, namely that the release date for JJ Abrams’ Star Trek sequel had been put back to 2013. And now, we’ve got an official, specific date for the film’s release, too.
That date? Well, the film is now earmarked for release on May 17th 2013.
Furthermore, it’s also been revealed that the Star Trek sequel is set to be released in 3D, too. It appears, from the report over at Deadline, that the film will be shot in 3D, rather than a post-production bolt-on being deployed.
In other news on the Star Trek sequel, it’s been confirmed that Michael Giacchino will be back to write the score for the film. And production on the new movie begins in January.
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
