Mickey Rourke chooses Seven Psychopaths, from the director of In Bruges, over The Expendables 2...
The original plan for The Expendables 2, if you believe the synopsis that was doing the rounds earlier in the year, was that Mickey Rourke’s character, Tool, would be killed in the new film.
It was never confirmed whether that was the case or not, but it certainly doesn’t seem too likely now. That’s because news has reached us that Mickey Rourke has now dropped out of The Expendables 2. In its place, he’s doing a film called Seven Psychopaths, alongside Colin Farrell.
Given that Seven Psychopaths is directed by In Bruges’ Martin McDonagh, you can hardly accuse Rourke of making the wrong decision there. As much as we’re looking forward to The Expendables 2, we think we’d have made the same call.
Both films are due out next year.
