Torchwood series 4 heads before the cameras earlier next year, and it's already been revealed who the main new characters joining Gwen and Captain Jack Harkness will be. But the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine also puts a bit more flesh on the bones.
We already knew that there would be two new CIA agents in the show, namely Rex Matheson and Esther Katusi. We now know of Esther that she's "very much an optimist". She's a Christian who has a "strong faith in mankind", and we also know that she's in love with Rex Matheson.
Meanwhile, a further character is Oswald Jones, who will be a convicted paedophile and murderer. He's a man who evidently regrets his past, but is also "dangerous and clever", and is set to be pivotal to the show's plot. He is apparently "fated to become the centre of terrifying events".
We've also learned of a further new character, Dr Vera Juarez, although her role in things is yet to be revealed.
