Things have finally started moving with regard to the new Batman film this week. Here’s our round-up of what’s been happening…
Easily one of the most anticipated movies on our radar, especially now that Christopher Nolan has confirmed he's directing, is the upcoming Batman movie that's currently going under the title Batman 3.
The new film, which is set for release in July 2012, will see Christian Bale returning to the role of the caped crusader, and it's now been confirmed too that the shoot will begin in April next year. Furthermore, a chunk of the production will move to New Orleans this time round too.
Meanwhile, Morgan Freeman has hinted in a fresh interview that there might just be more than one villain to contend with again. Talking to MTV, he was asked about the villain for the film, and he answered that "There's been talk of the Riddler, the Joker - I don't mean the Joker - the Penguin. Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin, and that sounds interesting to me. So, we'll wait and see. And there just may be more than one."
He did, to be fair, concede that he's still being kept in the dark on the new movie. And that he'd still be interested in Catwoman appearing.
Elsewhere on the web, rumours are rumbling that Killer Croc may surface as a villain. That doesn't strike us a very Christopher Nolan-esque inclusion, so we'll mark it as speculation for the time being.
