He’s not saying much, but it’s very clear that Christopher Nolan is hard at work on his follow up to The Dark Knight…
He's kept quite mum on the subject thus far, and it's still not - to our knowledge - been officially confirmed that he's directing the movie. Yet Christopher Nolan has nonetheless now offered the first solid news that he's actually working on the next Batman film, what with the near-$800m global take for Inception now comfortable under his belt.
Nolan was in Italy, reports Collider, on the continuing press tour for Inception. And he was directly asked about the status of what's become known as Batman 3, and also - bizarrely - if it had even been greenlit (it's little secret that Warner Bros is setting the film for a July 20th 2012 release).
Nolan said in response to the questions that "I don't like to talk too much about things until I'm further along with them. But I'm working on the script right now. My brother Jonah has done a draft for the script and now I'm writing on it. We have set a release date and as far as the film being officially greenlit, they haven't told me they don't want to do it. So, I'm hopeful."
We've said this before, yet we'd be genuinely amazed if Nolan didn't direct the project. Yet, everything remains rumour - including the widely-believed inclusion of The Riddler - until Nolan gives the nod, we'd wager.
