We're very proud and excited to bring you the latest in our occasional series of handpicked reader screenings.
This time, it's a terrific British movie, from director Ben Wheatley with executive production from comic mastermind Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). Sightseers is - and we've seen it - one of the funniest films of the year. The synopsis for it reads:
“Chris (Steve Oram) wants to show Tina (Alice Lowe) his world and he wants to do it his way - on a journey through the British Isles in his beloved Abbey Oxford Caravan. Tina's led a sheltered life and there are things that Chris needs her to see - the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the rolling countryside that accompanies these wonders in his life. But it doesn't take long for the dream to fade. Litterbugs, noisy teenagers and pre-booked caravan sites, not to mention Tina's meddling mother, soon conspire to shatter Chris's dreams and send him, and anyone who rubs him up the wrong way, over a very jagged edge..."
The film is rated 15. Here's the trailer for it:
We're running a very special, one-off screening of the film especially for Den Of Geek readers. You'll get to see the film eight days before its UK release, entirely free of charge.
First things first, though: please do not treat this as a competition. We want to give seats to people who genuinely want to see the film. Therefore, if you've requested seats to one of our previous screenings and not turned up, without letting us know, please don't request seats for this one. Sorry to sound so miserable about it.
Also: given the number of seats we have for this screening, we can only offer one ticket each. If a bunch of you want to come, you'll need to apply separately, we're afraid.
So then: if you want a seat, what we're going to ask in return is that you shout about the film afterwards, assuming that you like it. We'll give you full details before the screening starts.
Our screening will take place at 6.30 for 7 at a location not too far from Soho in London. The screening date is Thursday 22nd November 2012.
If you want tickets, here's what you have to do.
* Tweet @denofgeek with the hashtag #SightseersGeek. Please make sure you're following us so we can DM you if you're successful!
* Or head to Facebook.com/DenOfGeek, to the post there, like us, and post that you want a Sightseers ticket.
We will be in touch shortly to allocate seats. In the meantime, you can find Sightseers on Twitter here, and the official Facebook page for the film is here.
