Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone have only met on the big screen once before, in James Mangold's strong ensemble drama, Cop Land. But a few months ago, it was revealed that the pair were circling a new boxing comedy, by the name of Grudge Match. And now it seems that it's going to happen, as a co-star and director are also in place.
Grudge Match is set to be directed by Peter Segal, who's made the likes of Naked Gun 33 1/3, Get Smart, The Klumps and Anger Management. And the new recruit to the cast, according to Variety, is Kim Basinger. She's taking the lead female role, caught in the middle of ageing rival boxers, who look to take to the ring one more time.
We'd imagine that Grudge Match will begin shooting in the next couple of months, and could possible be ready for late 2013 release. More on it when we hear it.
