The movie adaptations of Marvel's Doctor Strange and Black Panther have been rumoured for some time now, the latter of which has Noel Clarke particularly interested. And it now seems as though both are heading into development, according to Stan Lee himself.
Whilst we have struggled to find a full transcript from the interview he did at the Savannah Film Fest, where the news arose, Ace Showbiz passed on some quotes from the great man.
On Black Panther and Doctor Strange, he said that “Oh, they are all being made into movies! I can tell you there will definitely be a Doctor Strange movie!” He then added that “Black Panther is being developed, one of my favourites... the Inhumans.. all the heroes will eventually be made into movies.”
He also confirmed what we already know by stating that Ant-Man is being made, and he elaborated on his role as executive producer. “I have very little control. I don't see the script, occasionally I have lunch with the director or a star, like the guy making Ant-Man, I don't remember his name – I don't remember names.”
That would be Edgar Wright.
“We talk about the characters. But all I do for all the movies are the cameos really. Then when the movie comes out I am excited to see it just like all of you. I'm seeing it for the first time.”
It's still usually best to wait until Marvel's Kevin Feige comes out and confirms the above the comments, but it's nonetheless interesting that both films remain on the radar. More news on the various Marvel adaptations when it's available.
