In a press release that dropped today, Rockstar has announced that the highly anticipated next entry into the hugely popular Grand Theft Auto series, GTA V is ‘expected’ to release next year, in the spring for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
"Grand Theft Auto V builds on everything we've learned about open world game design," says Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar, in the release. "We can’t wait to share it with fans."
The release doesn’t specify that much more than the expected release period, except to say that as of November 5 will see pre-orders begin to be taken.
With the new game returning to the street of Los Santos, and from the evidence seen in the media released thus far, also to the more varied and OTT style of previous instalments like San Andreas, GTA V is, even this early, topping many gamers’ most wanted lists. And with past form taken into account, it’s hard to see Rockstar dropping the ball on this one.
