If you’re the kind of person that simply doesn’t think they make games like they used to, then hold onto your pixellated hat, as Retro City Rampage is here to polish those rose-tinted glasses.
A GTA-style, open-world arcade title, Retro City Rampage packs in a world of retro gaming references and pop culture, including nods to Smash TV, Zelda, Back to the Future, Contra and much more. Presented in a distinctly 8-bit era style, the game packs in around 50 missions, with an arcade mode featuring 30 score-grabbing challenges.
The game has launched now for the price of $14.99 in North America on PS3, Vita and PC, and European launch dates are to be confirmed. It’ll also arrive on XBLA and WiiWare sometime this year, but as with the European release date, this is to be announced.
