Already working on resurrecting popular point-and-click adventure series, Broken Sword via a Kickstarter project, Revolution Software has its sights set on another classic, Beneath a Steel Sky.
Made possible thanks to the Broken Sword Kickstater making $800,000, the team have announced that Beneath a Steel Sky 2 has been green lit, and that they will be developing a sequel to the retro-favourite cyberpunk adventure.
Originally the target that would enable the production of BaSS 2 was one million dollars, but due to the success of the campaign for Broken Sword, the project is going to happen anyway.
This is a wise move, as the original Beneath a Steel Sky is a real cult classic, hailed by many as one of the finest examples of its genre, so a sequel will surely pull in even more cash.
Development of the game will begin after Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse is finished. And, if you’re sat there wondering what this Beaneath a Steel Sky business is all about, you can visit the retro-gaming website, gog.com, and download the original game for free (link below).
